"Violence is Soon to be a Thing of the Past"

In A Clockwork Orange (1971), not only does the Ludovico technique alter the psychological process and behaviors of Alex, it is an example of classical conditioning; a form of associative learning demonstrated by Ivan Pavlov. A feeling of illness overwhelms Alex upon sexual harassment, physical abuse and Ludwig van Beethoven's 9th Symphony, 4th Movement.

"A social satire dealing with the question of whether behavioural psychology and psychological conditioning are dangerous new weapons for totalitarial government to use to impose vast controls on its citizens and turn them into little more than robots."
-Stanley Kubrick's take on A Clockwork Orange
